Anatomist is capable of managing several referential systems for the same object (an object is an entity such as a imaging volume, a mesh, a graph of ROIs....), in other words it can immerse objects into different coordinate systems if you have a transformation file (.trm) which contains a transformation matrix. For example, if you know which transformation is required to switch from your image's coordinate system to a normalized coordinate system (for example the Talairach referential), then you can display your volume into this coordinate system.
